MediaBeacon Announces Use of Latest Google Web Toolkit in its Solution

MediaBeacon, Inc., a leading provider of Rich Media solutions, is announcing that the next release of the MediaBeacon Digital Asset Management solution suite will use the latest version of the Google Web Toolkit to bring the user experience into the Web 2.0 era like no other rich media solution.

Google Web Toolkit offers the web development community an innovative way to create advanced web experiences and bring them to market.

"We are very excited to bring to the market the first truly next-generation web experience for enterprise-ready digital asset management by using the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) as our development platform. What we gain with GWT 2.0 is:

  1. USER EXPERIENCE: The ease and richness of the development environment that creates an unbeatable user experience. It makes it possible for our customers to change their environments in 30 minutes versus 30 days.
  2. PORTABILITY: Given Google’s leadership on the web and the fact that Google used the GWT framework for many of its own products, the MediaBeacon solution will be supported by all major operating systems and internet brewers.
  3. OPEN AND EASY: Our customers can now easily plug-and-play into a widget environment; not just bits and pieces from our solution, but also OpenSocial widgets from organizations like Google. For example, a user can now add Google Docs as a widget into a MediaBeacon environment in minutes.
  4. SCALABILITY: In tests, we have seen better server scalability and network efficiencies because of how Google Web Toolkit serves up the widgets in a client’s workspace.

"And all of this while keeping our foundational technology intact," said Jason Bright, Founder and CTO of MediaBeacon.

"Google Web Toolkit radically improves the web experience for users by allowing developers to create exactly what MediaBeacon has done in the next release of their product," said Andrew Bowers, Product Manager for GWT for Google. "We are pleased about MediaBeacon using our web framework in an enterprise solution with such a rich user experience."

MediaBeacon DAM 3.0 will ship at the end of 2009.
