MediaBeacon and IBM intergrate Rich Media Web Technologies

MediaBeacon, Inc., a leading provider of rich media solutions, today announced integration of IBM and MediaBeacon's technologies to bring rich media management to enable corporations' next generation web experiences. This new integration and joint technology initiative brings together technologies to help clients enable rich media as a communication medium to better engage their employees, customers, prospects, vendors and partners.

With this initiative, MediaBeacon's digital asset management platform is being integrated with IBM's WebSphere Portal and Lotus Web Content Management software. This initiative will bring MediaBeacon's digital asset management technology to organizations that want to easily manage and publish media-rich content for their external-facing websites. Through this integration, businesses will be able to access media assets like pictures, imagery, audio, video, collateral files in their web environments built on IBM WebSphere Portal and IBM Lotus Web Content Management with ease.

"With digital content becoming ubiquitous, it is becoming increasingly critical for companies across all industries and geographies to better use their media assets as people expect a richer web experience," said Mukul Krishna, Global Director – Digital Media, Frost and Sullivan. "MediaBeacon's Digital Asset Management combined with IBM's web technologies will allow users to create a smarter web presence while being able to repurpose not only digital assets but resources as well and become more productive."

"The joining of these two major forces marks the beginning of an important new chapter in the history of Digital Asset Management. In the long run, this partnership will ultimately change what customers expect from the entire industry," said Paul Nicholson – VP, Print & Broadcast Production, Showtime Networks.

"MediaBeacon's investment in open standards in developing our solution is paying off in how straightforward it has been in bringing our solutions together," said Jason Bright, Founder and CTO, MediaBeacon. "We discovered right away that we can rapidly and cost effectively develop this next generation web experience that will evolve as the market moves into a Web 3.0-centric paradigm where the web, the media and business analytics are all brought together."
